I wasn't sure if this had to go through sky or not with them being my provider. Don't know who I would contact either i.e. phone number.

To be clear: is BT or Sky your ISP (broadband provider)?
Is the 'BT WiFi hub' perhaps an Openreach ONT (white wall box with LEDs for an FTTP connection)?
ISP routers don't tend to have an LED specifically labelled 'fault' but there's at least one model of ONT which does.

My provider is Sky through open reach
I have constant static red fault light on my white router box.
I have no consistent access to services

OK: that's probably not a 'router box': it's likely to be an Optical Network Terminal (aka 'fibre modem')
Is it the model below?

Yes that is correct it is that box.

OK: the fault light is almost certainly unrelated to any broadband issues.
It's actually an indicator that the separate Battery Backup Unit is no longer capable of holding charge.
