Installing puck not possible becasue it always says the PIN is invalid
Several months ago some users were complaining that a Puck would ask for a PIN during installation and after the correct PIN was entered it would say it was invalid. Standard advice on this forum was to power off once the PIN screen was reached.
No one on this forum has complained for a while so maybe the problem is rare now.
I had this PIN issue with 3 pucks this week and eventually got past it on 2 of them. It took hours on the 2 i got working. The sequence of exactly when to turn it off an exactly how lonmg to leave it turned off has me baffled - and maybe it is completely random!
But has anyone received a replacement puck and then then got it working. My 3 pucks were 2 sepeate orders ( myself and my in-laws). Are other customers receiving pucks an then just setting them up according to the instrcutions and not being asked for the PIN. Was I really so unlucky that I received 3 faulty ones? Are they faulty if after many many restarts I can get it configured and from then on they work fine!
Does anyone know if replacing the puck is likely to help?
Also does anyone know if the step where the PIN is requested is a normal part of the install process. It was not shows in then 'how to setup' video I watched.

Re: Installing puck not possible becasue it always says the PIN is invalid
You mentioned that the pucks were from separate orders. Does that imply two accounts? Different accounts will have different pins and this might be the root issue.
Could you try the recovery procedure and see if this helps at all?
- On your Sky remote, press 4 and 6 together for three seconds. This will reset your remote.
- Switch off the Sky Stream puck at the mains again. There's no need to unplug it.
- Press and hold the Standby button on the bottom of the Sky Stream puck.
- Keeping your finger on the button, switch the power back on at the mains and wait until you see the LED lights flash different colours, then remove your finger.
- Let the Sky Stream puck complete the recovery process. This can take up to 15 minutes, depending on your broadband speed.
