Ad Skipping on Sky Glass and Sky Stream
With the Ad Skipping TV pack, you'll be able to fast forward through adverts when using:
You can also fast forward adverts in the ITVX, STV Player and All4 TV apps.
The Ad Skipping pack doesn't mean that you won't see any adverts. It just lets you fast forward through the ads using the relevant remote control buttons and on screen menu for what you're watching. It doesn't fast forward ads in:

Add skipping does not stop the adverts from showing.
You have to skip them yourself using the fast forward button.

Ad skipping only allows you to fast forward through ads on certain content & from certain apps - there is no ad-free option on Sky Stream.
You will still receive ads on live channels of course as you cannot fast forward into the future.

I had Now tv and that skipped the ads, that is what I was expecting.
Thanks for your quick response

Me too. It's disappointing that the NOW Boost ad-free option isn't available on the "premium" Stream
The £5/m "Ad Skipping"' is a rip off on a subscription service

I agree, it's certainly not worth paying for, but worth noting that if you cancel ad skipping then check your account a couple of days after it's expired, you're usually offered it free again for a few months. You can repeat this and get it free for rather a long time... 😉

I'm trying to watch the Ryder Cup, I may as well got up at 6am and watched it live....all the Fwd brings me to adverts...i've had to pay £5 for add skiping but it's continually ending with an advert as soon as zipped it along. really not impressed, whole point of moving the match on has been ruined.

We are watching Sky sports . We watch the adverts then it will automatically put us back ten minutes, so we fast forward to honest adverts then it puts us back at the beginning of the adverts. We have watched the same adverts THREE TINES. Come on Sky. Watched your ruddy adverts once , but three times are you kidding.

My experience is this function is temperamental. Occasionally it operates as expected in that it gets to the ads, shows the title of show, blank for a moment then the title of the show again and then the programme restarts. Other times you have to fast forward the ads. A final alternative I have experienced is the ads are only promos for Sky. They really should be able to do better.

I think I could cope with the ads if they were relevant to what you were watching. It distroys the viewing you're watching a horror movie and an advert for Daz makes white, ehites appears!

Makes sense to me. Some horror movie viewers may need to wash their clothes by the time the film has ended. 🤣

I have just moved from SKY HD+ and have always been able to pause live TV and forward through the ads until I reach LIVE TV again. And have always been able to forward through ads when watching something in my planner. Why am I now charged £5pm to do the same thing with my new sky glass/stream box?

That's how commercial broadcasters make money in the age of streaming.
Advertising revenue is down and these companies want viewers to see their expensive ads. If you don't want to see them you need to pay to either remove them (by using ITVX Premium, Channel 4+, or NOW TV with Boost) or to fast forward them with Sky's ad-skipping pack.
It's not great, I agree, but that's just the way it is I'm afraid.

I understand that, but yesterday with my HD+ box I didn't need to pay for the same thing. I just don't understand the logic.
