Getting my Sky TV stream box to work with a 3rd party universal remote

Hi all. I have got a new universal remote (Unfolded Circle Remote 3) to control all my TV / home theatre / music etc. principally in my living room. Programming it has been a frustrating experience. The problem I have with my Sky stream box (OS 1.3, Build version QS037.041.00P, hardware model IPO61-ef, remote firmware version 5103.48) is that the new Remote 3 won't learn any of the IR codes from the Sky remote. I found a set of IR codes and entered them in manually, but still no luck. I've asked the question on the Unfolded Circle forum, but no luck so far. Does anyone here have an idea of how to get the Sky remote to replicate on a universal remote like mine?

Thanks in advance.

The remote is probably not learning codes from your remote as the stream remote relys on Bluetooth. I believe if you connect a sky q remote to your stream box it works via IR so maybe see if can get hold of a q remote so get the IR info to program your remote.

Ah..! Thanks very much. My universal remote has BlueTooth capability. Do you know if there's any way to pair with the Sky box via BT? I searched, but couldn't find anything in the settings.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@MarkB71 have you tried putting your Sky Stream remote into IR mode before trying to get your universal remote to learn the codes? Press 4 & 6 on the Stream remote together for a few seconds

I've used my Stream remote to teach codes to my Logitech Harmony remote, so I know it can be done.

Thanks @Mark39 . I did try this but it didn't seem to work for IR learning. I've now managed to get IR HEX (Pronto) codes that seem to mostly work. The only one that doesn't is the Home code (I have to use Back instead).

Have you tried uploading the Sky Q IR Command set from a CSV file. This worked for me on the UC Remote 3 for my Sky Q box. I cant add the file here as this forum doesnt allow for attachments.

Thanks @IanO72. I've now got it working with Pronto IR codes. Just the Home button not working - I have to use the back button

The 'Home' button maps to 'Main Menu' in the Pronto codes.

Could you share the Pronto code you have for Home?
