"Watch from the start" is where I first noticed the issue, the problem occurs on any channel that supports this feature, ITV, CH4, Sky Atlantic etc - I assume these are being played back via  Sky's own streaming infrastructure.

 

But I also have the issue with on-demand programmes, for example last night I watched the latest episode of Succesion on demand from Sky Atalanic and had the same and same issue.

 

Anything watched from 3rd Party Apps (BBC iplayer, itvx etc) doesnt have this issue, it's just seems to be programes streaming from Sky's infrastructure. hope that makes sense

Okay, so I started to watch a live broadcast halfway through and so went to the start. When I was viewing part of the programme I wanted to skip back. When I did and pressed either OK or the play button once I got to the place Inwas wanting, it kept returning to the beginning of the programme. After awhile I just left it to run from the start for about the first advert and then it jumped to point Inwanted initially. Not a fix and incredibly frustrating. It's all about the adverts catching up or it forces you to watch a segment of the beginning of a programme.

I am finding the rewind function doesnt work very easily.  I realised that you have to constantly hold the button down for it to work, but its so hard to find the point you want to rewind to.

frustrating and not very user friendly.

@PaulF16 Yes the FF and RW function is pretty dreadful particularly watching sport in UHD.  In general I find the voice control more useful (forward 5 minutes, back 45 seconds etc).

 

Whether or not you can track the progress of the FF or RW is dependent on the App being used.  Like you I don't like the ones where the picture is hidden as where to stop is purely guesswork.

I wonder what Sky says about this issue? When I mentioned it to the sky person she was clueless so not much hope of a solution in that area!

@PaulF16 Unfortunately I doubt that Sky have much, if any, input into the design of the 3rd party Apps which are of course used on various streaming platforms not just Sky.

 

Ideally, all the Apps should work the same but that is never going to happen.

I got sky stream as I don't have a satellite point where I need in the room. Compared to regular sky it's absolutely dreadful.. Wishing I hadn't signed up for it. Interface looks good. Fast forward and rewind just ruins a film. I watched one from the start, then wanted to rewind 1 minute, it got stuck then took me to live feed and I missed hour of the film.

@Spongebob the rewind and fast forward functionality tends to be better if you use voice commands rather than the remote. You can say "Fast Forward X Minutes" and it will skip forward X minutes within a couple of seconds.

FF and RW are completely broken. I'm pretty amazed that Sky would ship such a half baked product.

The product is appalling, I have just briefly paused a game to take a phone call and when the call finished, I went to fast forward back to live view, instead I was taken all the way back to half time and subjected to adverts. Sky are having their cake and eating it, they are taking advertising revenue and providing VR a poor service to get people to pay extra to get they same as they used to offer. I am thinking of leaving them
