F1 recordings incorrect.

I'm getting really frustrated with Sky stream.

I bought Sky for Sky sports F1.

I used to record the practice, qualifying and races on Sky Q because I cannot watch the F1 until the evenings. Now I have sky stream in every room, I have playlisted the F1 to stream in the evening, I no longer have sky Q.

To give you an example of my issue, I tried  watching practice 1 & 2 of Monza this morning. After 5 minutes of ads, I realised it was playing last weeks Dutch Grand Prix. I hit back to check if I'd clicked on the wrong thing, it said Monza Practice 1.
I tried practice 2 instead and it also played the Dutch Grand Prix (after another 5 minutes of ads, then just to check it wasn't a glitch, I fast forwarded by 30 minutes, another 10 minutes of ads. Still the Dutch Grand Prix.

Tonight, I have got hiome and wanted to watch the qualifying. So I found it on catch up, started playing, and after another 5 minutes of ads, realised it was playing practice 1. I went back into the menu, decided to check what practice 3, 2 and 1 were showing, all four played practice 1 and after 5 minutes of ads each. Today I have watched no F1, around 40 minutes of ads and the program I want to watch is not playing.

I have moved to channel 4 to watch the qualifying as I have no way of watching it with Sky Sports on catch up right now, while it is showing on the menu, if I play it, it's not the correct program that plays.

this is not the first weekend this has happened, it happened last weekend with the Dutch Grand Prix too, and right now I'm considering cancelling my sky subscription because I only have it for Sky Sports F1.

I didn't have this issue with Sky Q, I feel like I need another Sky Q box to record F1 because catch up just isn't working for me.

@MrMCD I find the most reliable way to get the sessions you want is to add them from the TV Guide ch406. I have each race weekend set up to record and the playlist adds them as "episodes" so I get what I want. It really is little different from Q in that respect.

The series function maintains the setting between seasons but the "recordings" are there for 6 months or so but do delete.

Re: F1 recordings incorrect.

@Chrisee  thanks for this. Sorry if this comes across as a silly question but how do you record from Sky Stream?

I have been finding the show I want and using the red plus button to add to my playlist.

Sky sports automatically series linked it to add every episode to my playlist (which is perfect), but this is where I'm having the issue of the wrong show playing - a different show from the one I select actually playing. Which gets very annoying quite quickly.

I wasn't aware of any record function in addition to playlist, I've been searching around for it. I'll defo give that a try though if it works better than playlist 👍

@MrMCD while the box does not of course record adding the programme from the TV Guide causes the system to store a "recording" on the server your Playlist then accesses. This does not work with all content but does seem to work with Sky's sports channels. Choosing the same event from the main menus does not seem to work the same way.

Re: F1 recordings incorrect.

@Chrisee  Ahh, I get you... Thanks for this, I originally added the first race of the season from the TV guide and now it is series linked, it automatically adds other episodes - this is where my problems are.

I will try removing the series link and manually adding each race to see if that makes any difference.

Re: F1 recordings incorrect.

Did you resolve this issue? I'm fed up to the core of paying £60/£70 a month for a sub standard service. Tried watching todays Dutch GP. Got to lap 34 for the session to stop and tell me that it only "partially recorded"." (56 minutes).

literally can't watch the rest of the race

Re: F1 recordings incorrect.

Same here. No matter what I try I'm getting just 32 minutes part recorded. I had to watch highlights in the end which I could have got for free from channel 4
