Experience / Opinion on Sky Stream vs Sky Q

Hello, I signed up to Sky Stream as part of a TV+Broadband bundle offer that Sky were offering towards the end of last year. I want to understand from the community what their experience has been with these two different offerings?

@BrownBear91

Stream works well for many hundreds of thousands of households (including those who by definition aren't posting to this forum about problems) but undoubtedly has issues for some users, the majority of which are related to local Wifi or inadequate broadband bandwidth.

There are also significant differences to Q in operation, particularly the absence of local recordings, which raises problems for some use cases and viewing habits.

Sky not having in-premises support for Stream (and Glass) unlike the historic satellite platforms is also a factor.

Re: Experience / Opinion on Sky Stream vs Sky Q

Hi @TimmyBGood appreciate the response! Are wifi and recordings the primary drawbacks for Sky Stream over Sky Q? The the latter as you point out is very specific to the preferences of the user.

I'll have my TV connected to the internet via ethernet so I am hoping there is no issue on that side of things - fingers crossed!

Are there issues related to any lags in the viewing of live TV i.e. live sports?

I didn't quite understand what you meant by Sky not having in-premises support for Stream?

There's no 'engineer' attendance possible, unlike the system Sky always had for its satellite platforms.
