Why would you want EE's broadband over Sky's broadband?

EE is in the process of inheriting twelve million domestic broadband customers from BT: that's a very substantial user base to target with upselling to Stream.

That's bound to be the main thrust of why they're doing this. Stream from EE will largely be an upselling tool.

EE's broadband costs are a lot higher than Sky's, I'm just thinking that if I was a new customer looking for a decent broadband and TV package, it would make no sense whatsoever to get it from EE unless Stream was massively discounted (which I very much doubt it will be.)

300Mbps full fibre is currently £34.99pm from EE on a 24 month contract.

The same speed from Sky is currently £29pm on a 24 month contract.

500Mbps is £39.99pm with EE vs £33pm with Sky.

It'll probably be the case that if you pop into an EE store to get a mobile contract or a phone case or whatever, they'll offer you the chance to take away a Stream puck there and then if you sign up to a new 24 month Sky contract.

Re: EE to start selling sky stream

EE and BT are the same Company.

Sky moved away from BT when it bought EE, as there competitors.

I don't expect a fresh move from Sky. EE are selling Sky packages as had previously been mentioned.

Re: EE to start selling sky stream

EE are simply selling the sky stream packages, there is no billing integration. Effectively there is no difference from a consumer prospective as to whether they buy from sky or EE ( except cost is lower on sky)

I suspect that EE are receiving a commission per person who signs up or they have received preferential cost for NOW tv wholesale costs, which means that each EE tv sale with Now Tv is more profitable

Re: EE to start selling sky stream

My Sky Broadband renewal will apparently be £43 for 75mb, which I won't pay. BT/EE is £33, Vodafone is £25/m. (OpenReach still has no FTTP in our street)

@nmbailey @That's the standard billing price. Tell sky you want to cancel and see what they offer ?

That seems to be the way of the world at the moment where new customers get the deals and existing customers have to try all the tricks to get a low ish cost on renewal with all providers .....

I doubt EE will sell it for long once their support desk starts to light up with all the issues they'll get!
