Re: Drop outs with Sky Stream ethernet connection and Fibrenest router

I've finally resolved this one :).

After several unsuccessful calls with the team at FibreNest, I eventually bit the bullet and replaced the FibreNest router with my own router (TP-Link AXE5400).

So the FibreNest ethernet cable coming directly into the house was plugged into the WAN connection on teh new router, I then set the Wi-Fi username and password to be as per my previous FibreNest router, and connected the output (LAN), to a NETGEAR 8 Port Switch (GS308), and out from the switch to Cat 5e cables running to each room.

Each of these connections run into a TP-Link TL-SG105S, 5 Port Switch, and from each switch out to 4 Sky Stream Pugs....
All now works AMAZING and took ~30 minutes to configure. I can stream UHD to each puck (simultaneously) and I don't get any hint of a drop out.
Conclusion has to be that there is some compatibility issue between the FibreNest Router and the Sky Puck, but the investment of the new router (£150 @Amazon) was well worth it and I'm getting unbelievable performance throughout my Network... and the Wi-Fi is spot on as well..... Cheers 🙂

Re: Drop outs with Sky Stream ethernet connection and Fibrenest router

Just signed up for Sky Stream and this is the exact thing that's happened to me, using a Draytek Vigor 2865 router. Have just resorted to connecting using WiFi. So far, no drop outs. But like everyone else that knows what they are talking about, there is an ethernet port and I want to use it. Why has this not been fixed by now?
