Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

There is more than enough information on this thread to troubleshoot, I get the feeling the tech teams are not looking at it and it's being going on years. I think it's time to quit the stream puck, it needs rebooting often and it cannot deliver atmosphere with uhd.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Maybe the dev team could offer a trace/debug build with suitable logging to a few volunteers that might help them trace the issue? Allow the specific pucks of the volunteers to update to said trace/debug builds? Perhaps a certain key sequence on the remote to signal an issue event occurence. Would be a lot easier to connect issues directly to the dev team. Would also be a good approach for other frequent issues. The debug build could have a timeout such the puck updates to a standard build after X days/weeks to minimise maintenance. Granted, there is the usual observer effect introduced by tracing, but it's got to better that specificying timestamps of what appear to be more random events.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Hope this helps , I was having drops outs on Dolby Atmos , I've purchased hdmi 2.1 cables going from my soundbar to earc port to TV and also the same from puck to TV with puck connected on ethernet and WiFi off , got passthrough on puck and TV and this I think has resolved the issue for me. Watched a whole episode hour long on Dolby Atmos from on demand on sky which was having dropouts every 20 mins or so and is absolutely fine now.

Got the cables from Amazon pretty cheap, wouldn't let me post the link but if anyone wants to know , put this on Amazon below z should come up

10K 8K HDMI Cable 2M Certified, Snowkids HDMI 2.1 Cable Ultra HD 8K@60Hz 4K@120Hz eARC HDR10 HDCP 2.2/2.3 Dolby 3D, Compatible with PS5/4 HDTV X-box

I have Samsung q800b soundbar with Samsung s90c oled TV. I didn't have the dropouts on TV apps on Dolby Atmos but I think the hdmi cable sky provides isnt 2.1 neither was the cable with soundbar , since changing cables ive actually noticed better sound quality too.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Awful this evening, watching Inter Milan Juventus earlier on TNT sports and now the F1 on Main Event UHD. Constant audio drops and now screen freezing. Have checked other devices and everything else is okay.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Yep, as of yesterday picture is freezing too. Reboot solves it for 10 minutes and then it returns

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

@Sav7 that sounds like it's connection speed issue. Open the Netflix app and run a speed test and check what

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

I did check in case it was my router playing up but all was fine. The puck is hooked directly into the router via ethernet. I checked other devices at the time too and they were all fine. Ending up just streaming on the Sky Go app on the PS5.
