Considering Upgrade from Sky+ to Sky Stream, but need some more info about channel availability.
Hey there,
I've been a sky plus customer for years now, have been enjoying the set for a while now, but now its starting to show its age and i've been considering upgrading, not to sky q but to either glass or stream.
I have a few concerns however, about the availability of channels especially.
Because sky stream works over wifi, it doesnt use a dish for the channel pickup.
Does that mean that I will not be able to watch live tv anymore? like i was able to on sky +
Will sky stream be just a sky-ified netflix? only pre-recorded content?
Sometimes i want to watch news, or live tv, the same catalogue and channel times that i've been used to for years on my sky+
If i switch to sky stream, will all the channels i used to watch stay there? Will the programmes be there too? the timings, etc?
If not i may consider keeping my sky plus box until it breaks, or switch to freeview.
It may be too long to read, put short im just wondering if sky stream will still have sky + live channels, same programmes with same times that i was used to.
Thanks!!

Re: Considering Upgrade from Sky+ to Sky Stream, but need some more info about channel availability.
Sky stream fundamentally is the same as Sky + in that you can watch live channels and on demand content , it's all just delivered via the internet rather than a satellite.
the major difference is there is no hard drive, so if you want to watch content that isn't live, you generally need to **bleep** that content is available on an on-demand service (although the content is generally only available for a limited time). You may also need subscriptions to apps like Disney + or paramount + in order to watch some shows not live (e.g ont he channel 4 live channels they show a lot of US based comedy content but they have limited on-demand rights to it but typically to watch it later you will be taken to another app like Disney +).
not all the channels are available on the streaming platform either. Take a look at his for the list of available channels.
