Cancel my skystream im in my cooling off pirod

This has to be one of the worst service I've ever had, over priced , under staffed , can't get through to customer service.  Don't reply back to emails . I've cancelled my bank direct debit.

Well cancelling your direct debit is unfortunately the worst thing you can do, as cancelling that won't cancel your contract.

All cancelling the direct debit will achieve is that your bill won't get paid, you will then charged additional late payment fees and your services will be restricted if your bill becomes overdue. This can then escalate into the debt being sold to a debt collection agency who would then chase you payment and all of this would have a negative on your credit rating.

In the UK Sky offer 4 different methods of cancellation (Messaging Service, Phone, Online Form and Email, It worth noting that when doing the written cancellations they will need to contact you by phone to confirm you are the account owner), all of which can be found here https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv (scroll down to the bottom and click still need help).

@Mrwrong you have absolutely lived up to your username.

Cancelling your DD may cause no end of grief as it doesn't do anything apart from remove your payment method and if you do not cancel by a recognised method then when Sky come to take a payment you could end up with a missed payment marker on your credit file.

You previously said you joined Sky on 2nd February, how long do you think your cooling off period lasts?

The April 1st price rise is the annual Sky price rise that affects all customers, as laid out in the T&Cs of the contract you agreed it. Only broadband customers can exit their contract penalty free within 31 days of the price increase letter from Sky. This doesn't apply to TV subscriptions, where early termination is at the discretion of Sky.

something you shouldn't forget is that this is a forum of Sky Customers where we offer advice and suggestions to assist other customers. Therefore by posting in this forum you are acting asking for the advice and suggestions of other Sky customers who are typically more experienced and knowledgeable in Skys products and processes.

Yeah, so the chat box on the Sky website is difference from the Messaging Service, which is actually operated by human Sky employees. The chat bot on the website is primarily there to point you towards the Sky Help page for issues, so customers will be able to resolve issues themselves where appropriate  ( if the issue can be self resolved) or it will point you towards the contact details for Sky.

For account specific issues the chat bot can't help and you need to actively contact Sky via one of their help channels to get those issues resolved or questions answered.
