I could not find the answer anyware, I know you can use Sky Go on you phone and it don't use your data so why I asked...? 🙂
I am not a Sky Engineer but at one time wanted to be one or a BT Engineer... 🙂
I like working things out like its a puzzle... 🙂
I was a PC Engineer and fix peoples PCs by going to there house, Windows XP was known to slow down PCs over time and clog up the PCs RAM and its start-up and had to reinstall it for the customer, the only way you could fix WinXP.
I now work on Mini Retro Consoles(replica retro consoles and computers) and modify them with PCUAE

Yes as long as you can set up a wireless hot spot and you have a fast enough connection (minimum of 25Mbps) there is no reason why it wouldn't work and some people on here have set up via mobile or used temporarily before having broadband etc.
Given the amount of data you would burn though you would need unlimited data. I have 3 freely TVs in my caravan. Going up for the weekends only uses circa 30Gb in data in a month.
When you say sky go doesn't use your data that is on sky's network only, it's will be measured (guessing here) by the endpoint the app is connecting to and this traffic is ignored. As you will be setting up a hotspot for stream, sky wouldn't be able to (as easily) assess what traffic is going where and therefore this is just treated as any other data use and certainly isn't included.

Re: Can you use Sky Stream on Sky Mobile Via a Hot spot On Your Phone and Do you Need Unlimited Data
@mikealanr As you suggest this worked perfectly well in my case when my Virgin 1 Gig broadband confounded engineers for a full week and I had to resort to a hotspot. Assuming it wasn't being used at home as well would it be viable to take a Sky Stream puck away on holiday within the UK using a hotspot or would Sky HQ clock a change of IP address and suspend the service?

We can't advise on the practicalities, just that it's a breach of the T&C's and so shouldn't be discussed here.
Personally I find it really annoying that Sky went with a frankly outdated usage model which goes back to having satellite receivers tethered to a dish.
