As the title suggests, given Sky stream uses catchup apps and services for most content why doesn't the TV guide allow me to watch TNT sports channels live from the guide. It says I need a Sky subscription but I already have an existing subscription to TNT sports. I have to open the Discovery+ app and then I can watch the channels live.
Is there a workaround?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@camsoft2000 If you want to access the channel via the tv guide you need a tv subscription
there is no workaround

@camsoft2000 you can only watch TNT Sport via the EPG if you subscribe to TNT directly through Sky otherwise you'll have to watch via the Discovery+ app.

Yeah it's a shame really, even adding it to the playlist won't let me watch it even though it would just play back from the Discovery+ app anyway which is logged into my TNT subscription. Doesn't seem to be a good reason for this limitation other than to frustrate.

It'd be the same on BT TV, Virgin Media etc. They're only going to let you watch via their EPG if you subscribe directly via them.

Also, you can get TNT Sport through Sky on Stream for £25 a month which includes Discovery+ Premium. So if EPG access is that important, switch your subscription over.

While I agree in principle, Sky Stream is a IPTV streaming device and as such streams content via the internet. It's not exactly comparable to a conventional TV service. Also Sky stream doesn't have the content or recording, it's equiverlent lists requires you to use a 3rd party app to watch content which requires you to have accounts which each 3rd party. Again this is very different to a conventional TV service where you just record the live feed to disk.
Given the compromises put on the user to have to use apps to watch content after the event given no cloud recording order it's not a stream to think they could allow you to watch content you have a subscription for even if via the 3rd party.
