Can't switch from Sky Q to Sky Stream?
I'm moving to a new house next week and coincidentally my Sky Q package was up for renewal - so I have renewed it and organised for an engineer to come and install fibre optic wifi, and a dish on the roof for Sky Q. But my brother has recently got Sky Stream and didn't need to add a dish to his roof, which is a more attractive option.
So I've just called Sky to see if I can lift and shift my package from Sky Q to Sky Stream, and they can send me a box to plug in rather than an engineer - but the chap I spoke to said no, I would have to let them come and do the dish and then call up after and say that I want to move to Stream, and then I've just got a dish on the roof that I didn't want and won't need. Surely there is a way to just move me across and not waste an engineer's time and effort to install a dish that I don't want anyway?

You'll need to be firm with them. You need to just cancel the Sky Q installation rather than trying to switch it to Stream. Tell them you've changed your mind. Once it's cancelled you should then be able to order Sky Stream. You can let the fibre broadband installation take place if you still want that - it's done by a completely different team from the satellite dish installers.
