Hi @Help13

The back cover is very stiff the first few times of removal. Try as per the diagram in this article: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/remote-control-help-sky-glass#:~:text=Only%20use%20AAA%20alkaline%....

 You need to exert a fair amount of pressure.

@Help13

Try putting the remote flat between the palm of both hands and move your hands in opposite directions ....

@Help13 The method I find works best for me is holding the remote at both ends with the buttons down and my thumbs on top and then applying pressure and pushing with one thumb and pulling with the other in the direction of the small arrow.

Note removing the back of the remote can be a problem the first couple of times as it it very stiff.  Also be aware that the back only moves a few millimetres and can then be lifted off.

Re: Can’t remove back of remote to replace batteries - very stiff

From another post, a customer was advised to put on a pair of rubber gloves to give extra grip and that worked first time.

@martswain  That never occurred to me and would be an excellent solution.  I recall the first time I removed the back from my remote it was so stiff that when I eventually got it off I used a nail file to round off the clips a little.

@Vicky+collins They can be very stiff the first time you remove the back of the remote.  Have a look at post 4 above to try my method.  Other people have reported using rubber gloves can also help.

I agree, it's rather hard to open, and being neurodivergent makes it harder. Another issue is when you trying to do it when the batteries are in, it always seems to turn on lol

I do love stream though, glad I moved from Q

Combine thumbs with rubber gloves. That worked for me.
