Assistance with Sky Stream Remote for Elderly and Dementia users

My mum has had early onset dementia and has struggled with using her TV over recent months.

I felt that upgrading to a Sky Stream service could be the answer to enable her to activate the TV with her voice or by the simple navigation offered by the Sky Menu.

However I have found there is one issue that we have not been able to master using the remote.

And that is the circle navigation tool as it does not have anything printed on the remote.

Even though I have created the attached image for my mum, she is only ever able to navigate screens with assistance.

Sadly dementia steals the ability for her to remember anything new. I'm hoping that some members of the community may help come up with a solution to this issue.

Hi @JamesD9

Sorry to hear about your mum. Have you tried reaching out to skys accessibility team to see if they have anything which may help? See: www.skyaccessibility.sky

Failing that could you use a label printer to print L, R, U and D stickers and affix them to the remote? Or write on it with those posca paint pens that hobby craft etc sell?
