Re: Anybody regret leaving SKYQ for Stream

I have no regrets as such from dumping Q (which was a very good service) I switched when I moved home and could not be bothered with getting the sat dish sorted out as not sure how long I will be living in this home.

Stream is fine apart from having to reboot every few days - add skipping is ok just about ...

the system when it crashes is cr@ pp .. such as sometimes trying to load an app such as XUMO play it will hang and knock the whole system out. Im on virgin 1 gig bb. So its not a speed issue.

But as im learning - my firestick max is superb - fast and response - same with my Roku stream bar. Even the inbuilt tv offerings on my Samsung TV is decent. And so im thinking I dont stream really - although I like the play lists and the interface of stream is really good.

I doubt Sky will work on improving this much any time soon - so I may dump stream and just go all in with the various streaming sticks and NOWtV when I want a package for a month or so. I actually find myself using my Firestick much more than Sky stream these days and love the way it serves up content it thinks im interested in viewing.

Sky stream could be brilliant and the concept is on point. But it needs much better hardware. nd to be honest Im not sure I actually need it.  But will stick with it a while longer - as the play lists are decent. So glad I didnt get Sky Glass - due to sky totally messing up that initial order. For speed and useability firestick / roku has stream beaten hands down - but sky still has alot to offer - just wish they would invest more in developing this product (stream/ glass) as it could be superb. But I wont hold me breath.

Most definitely, Sky Q worked brilliantly.  This puck running on fftp150 is a pile of crap, constantly freezes, pixilated and sound sync issues, all on a daily basis.

@Hackedoff24   This has been the problem for many by the sound of it, but likewise many have found it running smoothly, myself included.  I haven't regretted moving to Stream from Q but agree even if it is running smoothly the ability to 'record' and rewind or forward wind needs a big improvement.  You get used to it but it's not up to the standard for what it costs, but like many we are awaiting each update with hope!
