Mine did the same and the issue was network instability.
I used to have it connected via Wifi and would have nothing but issues watching live sport, so after a few days i disabled the Wifi in the settings, connected it via ethernet cable ( and powerline adapters as i didn't want a 5m cable across my floor), rebooted my puck by powering it off at the plug for 30 seconds, and all issues occurred by the wifi network instability went away. Since then live sport has been perfect.
