Re: My good journey to Sky Stream from Sky Q

Today, I tried to switch contracts from SkyQ to Sky Stream and was offered the Sky Essential +Sports +TNT Sports for £84, but the offer on the Internet for the same package is just £60. Unlike some, I havn't been offered the savings as is offered by the Internet Sky website.

I have had to cancel my Sky contract, having been a loyal customer for 26 years, so much for being a Diamond VIP Customer!!!!

The Sky Q box must be 20 years old, so Sky have had their moneys worth from it's hire !

As a 75yr old pensioner, I cannot justify £97.50/month to watch TV, but was willing to take up the 24months @£60... but have gone out and bought a Freeview Recorder to record programmes from terrestial tv.

I can only hope Sports Streaming services will be offered some day and I can continue to watch selected sports again !

Hi @AlanBnalA  Like you I am a pensioner and have to watch the pennies.  Over a period of time I have slowly reduced my viewing package and currently only have Sky Ultimate and Ad skipping for which I pay £30.  There's not much left to cancel now.

For your sports have a look at NOW TV which has Sky entertainment, Sky Cinema and Sky sport packages much cheaper than Sky.  When my Sky puck became faulty a couple of months ago I resorted to the free trial period for NOW TV and was able to watch most of my Sky programmes whilst waiting for my replacement puck to arrive. I will admit it is a bit limited in its capabilities compared to the full Sky package but it is a pretty good alternative.

It's worth taking a look and you can try the 7 day free trial.  I included a trial of the Boost add-on package which gives Ad free, HD and a couple of other benefits. When I cancelled after the free trial I was offered all sorts of discounts.

Q was released a little under a decade ago.
