Subtitles on Buy & Keep movies in Sky Store
I really find it absolutely shocking that Sky Store is the only tv/movie provider that still in September 2024 does not provide any subtitles for any of its buy and keep movies. Their customers have been requesting this for 5 years and they promised back then, it would be sorted soon and they still don't. I use Sky stream. It's only after purchase do you realise there is no subtitles and they don't ever refund after purchase.
Every other movie provider has subtitles. I now purchase my movies from YouTube. Better quality also as most are 4k and UHD with subtitles. Sky store don't deserve your hard earned money

Re: Rearranging the order of purchases on sky store app
I have no option to reorder my purchases on my brand new LG OLED TV, nor can I on Google Chrome or on the Android sky store app. Sky really are the pits. So far behind in human intelligence or just couldn't care less

Re: Subtitles on Buy & Keep movies in Sky Store
Part of the reason behind this is because most movies, when made available for streaming, are supplied with subtitles created by whichever studio/distributor owns the movie. These subtitles are supplied as a separate file, along with the movie itself, and the subtitles are triggered to appear in the appropriate place by the embedded metadata supplied with the files.
The problem with Sky Store (and Sky Cinema) is that they speed up most of their movies from 24 to 25fps, therefore rendering the subtitle metadata useless due to the original subtitle metadata having been created to fit the movie playing at its correct native frame rate of 24fps.
Other movie streaming services such as Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney+, etc, all play movies at their native frame rates so can use the subtitle files supplied by the studios without issue.

Re: Subtitles on Buy & Keep movies in Sky Store
Yes it is terrible, I'm a new customer and thankfully found this out when viewing my free movie bonus for signing up, so I haven't wasted any money .... Youtube is one alternative but personally I will just rent or buy stuff on Amazon Prime as it's easier to switch subtitles on and off, plus easier to navigate about eg jump back & forward 10 seconds, picture in picture fast forwarding and rewinding and so on.
The more people posting that they will use Youtube, Prime or other providers, the more likely Sky are to take this seriously.

Re: Subtitles on Buy & Keep movies in Sky Store
It is so frustrating there are no subtitles available when watching the films.
It is not accessible to those who require them to enjoy a film.
