Hi @Joshuazac

Providing you ordered it before approx March 28th (when discs were withdrawn from

sale) then yes you will eventually get it

About 10 days ago the sale of discs recommenced so hopefully it won't be much longer - but I think I would be now be asking the Skystore team for an update - good contact details here

Re: Sky store now download only?

Yes @Caterbram  I too ordered the Rise of Skywalker i have kept it on my recordings as i don't want to lose it & was expecting the dvd trough my door. I have been in touch with my ex- girlfriend who is on Virgin & she got her dvd today. So where are our copies of the dvd then? If i find alternative ways to record stuff or Virgin come to my area i will be going back to them. To me the website is a waste of time as sends you in circles & get nowhere! I have had problems with series links too as i have to check on them as there suddenly gone & have to re-do them.

Rise of Skywalker was only Digital Copy in Sky Store as it came out to Sky Store during the period where DVD copies were not being released.

If you check your email regarding the purchase it will confirm which format of this film you ordered.  If it was indeed a DVD+Digital copy, then you will be in a queue to receive the DVD.

Thanks

Re: Sky store now download only?

Well whatever it was is it normally £13.99 for a digital copy. That price is for the dvd on amazon plus other shops. Well I will never pay that again for a digital copy. That is a con a rip off. So what about the series links that I have to keep putting them in. What a farce!

Hi @AndyJacko

Looking around.  Â£13.99 is the standard cost for the download of the Skywalker movie.  That's the cost on Apple and Rakuten also

It is interesting that some people regard the DVD as something that they would expect to me more expensive than the download, yet some (including me) regard the download as a more desirable/ convenient format

Re: Sky store now download only?

So what happens if you move or dont have Sky anymore then you dont have you digital copy either.  So you then paid the same price as the actual dvd you can play anytime Sky or not.

If you cancel a Sky account then you still have access to your digital downloads via the Sky Store website or app but the account would need to be changed to a Sky Store only one so you don't lose access to your purchases.

Hi @AndyJacko

If I move house I would keep the same box. If my box needed changing / upgrading I would just download the movie again

I like the fact it doesn't take up a load of shelf space. Those movies I don't need on my hard drive I can just archive and download later

I completely appreciate that others prefer discs though. All I was saying is that I don't regard it as a con and that the format is good for some people

Re: Sky store now download only?

We paid £15.99 for a buy and keep film but never received the physical dvd. As we paid the higher price does this mean we'll get the dvd when you have them in stock at no extra charge ? I could have bought the dvd from work for £13.99 then got a staff discount but hubby didn't want to wait for me to get it.  I don't mind waiting if I know we'll eventually get it. I feel we were misled as there was nothing stating physical copies were temporarily not available.

When did you purchase this film and did you select the "Buy and Keep with DVD" option if this was available ?

Re: Sky store now download only?

Hi All

Well this is really gone by now. I do feel like we have been misled. I rang up as looking on website for an answer or to email is impossible to find. When I did ring I am going to cancel my sky. I was put off by promises which have never happened. Why should I waste more time on the phone getting messed around when I am paying for the call. My problems are still with me. Series links are not working as I said & still aren't. I'm too busy putting them all back in to mess about with Sky. If I find an alternative I will be gone!

Andy.
