There shouldn’t be an upgrade fee we should be sent the dvd as I wasn’t notified about this so when workforce get back these should be sent to people who have bought them

If you ordered a DVD then you will receive it but not just yet and it might be a while before it does turn up but you will not have been forgotten about as you are not the only customer who hasn't been sent a DVD/Blu-Ray but due to what is going on in the country at present things are not progressing as normal.

Re: Sky store now download only?

My star wars Blu-ray been billed and dispatched on 14/04/2020 so if you billed and it was before the the Digital downloads only you should still get the blueray or dvd.

Re: Sky store now download only?

It is only download or rent only at this time due to covid19 , once this has gone I think that they will bring back. The dvd again

Re: Sky store now download only?

I have only ordered Frozen 2 tonight and discovered you no longer get a dvd. There must be a 14 day refund policy as with everything else in this world?

I feel cheated, I can go to tesco and buy it for a tenner and actually get to 'keep' it.

Hi @098sarah

The best thing I can suggest is to contact the Dky store team

https://www.skystore.com/n/hcus/help/contact-us

I'm fairly sure  that there is no cooling off period on digital content, but if you haven't watched it hopefully they'll show some discretion. But the only way to find out is to ask. Good luck

@caesarome

Why is there always someone who hangs around just stir things.

I don't need your permission to have feelings or to justify them to you.

Re: Sky store now download only?

Again pointing out from what I previously posted also. The prices have gone up for a digital copy. I have checked all my bills. Since covid 19 outbreak and they stopped doing DVDs, the digital price has increased which is unfair. I think that is why people are not realising it's just digital because of the pricing.

Re: Sky store now download only?

@098sarah

I totally agree with you. When the sky store began the premise was you bought a movie and then sent you a DVD in the post to keep.

The whole idea of buy and keep as far as I am concerned

They recently changed it citing the pandemic as a reason not to post out physical  copies but kept this quiet on the web site.

For the price you now pay for buy and "keep" it's cheaper to go out and buy that physical copy at the shops.

I wouldn't mind paying for a digital only version to keep along with the benefit of instant delivery but I would never expect to pay more than an actual physical DVD.

It's just more profit for Sky!

Sky don't make it clear at any point you're not going to get a DVD until the very end when you're looking wondering where the choice of DVD and Blu-ray is at the checkout for the £14.99 they want....

Re: Sky store now download only?

Does sky even read these reports come on are you going to send the dvd,  the postal service is still working and doing a great job.  People are still subscribing to Sky and people are still working maybe not at full capacity but you’ve let your customers down

Re: Sky store now download only?

There no dvd or blue ray option anymore.only thoses who ordered before the lockdown will still get them.Sky customer services is not working at full capacity because lockdown they are only taking calls from key workers.the prices went up late last year. The warehouse sky uses is not at full Capacity and is only sending out orders from prelockdown.

Re: Sky store now download only?

I have recently bought Jumanji and The Rise of Skywalker. It was not clear that it was a digital download only and for £13.99 I would expect to get the physical DVD.   Perhaps you should highlight in the wording on screen that you will not receive the DVD for this amount as people could then make an informed decision whether to buy or not. I certainly won't be buying anymore. There is obviously a lot of confusion over this as all the comments assumed that they would receive the DVD.

Re: Sky store now download only?

Really looking at it now says HD Digital there no dvd or blueray option there and the price rises happened last year.

Re: Sky store now download only?

Yes but it says Buy and Keep. It would stop any misunderstanding of which there are many and not just on this forum if they were to put it in the description. £13.99 is more than the physical DVD costs.

I wanted to offer a different opinion  to some of the posts on here recently

I've looked at 2 recent popular movies (Birds of Prey and 1917) across three different download only sites, Sky, Apple and Rakuten

Both movies on all three sites are £13.99 to buy

The percentage cut that the platforms receive for a digital download sale is not for us to know,  but I'd be surprised if the biggest chunk of the £13.99 did not go to the distributor rather than to the platform.

Taking Birds of Prey as an example, the distributor will be trying to recover some of the multi millions lost as a result of cinema closures, so thinking that Sky are somehow earning £13.99 from

tbese sales is misplaced

Since late March the buy and keep pre purchase wording on screen says "HD Digital"  which I think is clear enough and in my opinion not misleading.

Clearly anyone preferring to buy a disc online can do so.

I would like to think that when things get back to normal Sky will offer upgrades for those who want them but over the last couple years many like me have stopped being bothered about having a disc to sit on a shelf doing nothing so for me - digital download only is fine

Equally - for those who prefer a disc - buy a disc
