Sky store downloading film at about 3 mins an hour

Sky store film downloaded in HD and doing so slowly, to the point where it probably won't download before the rental runs out. Cannot delete and get SD as it just goes back to resuming previous download if tried

Have you tried pausing the download for 5 minutes and then restarting it ?

 

If you want to download in SD you need to fully delete this one from both the planner and the deleted folder.

You can fully delete a download so it starts from the beginning by deleting it from your planner then also permanently deleting it from the deleted tab of the planner, I guess your not doing the second step

If your Sky box is connected over wifi to your broadband router, the slow speed is probably the result of a poor wifi link. You should be able to stop the download by deleting it, then deleting it permanently from your Planner's Deleted tab.

Advice as below is very sound 

 

in case you didn't know, the deleted folder is inside "manage" at the bottom of the recording section

 

Also - if by any chance you haven't started viewing the movie yet, your rental window hasn't started until you do (although viewing for even 1 Devi d starts the window "clock"

I'm downloading a film. Started it going last night on 23% this morning. Terrible and I'm on sky fibre. Deleted and restarted. Let's see how it does today

How far from your router to your Sky box ? Have you considered connecting the two with an Ethernet cable rather than wirelessly

 

This will often improve download speeds 

 

Another quick thing to try is to reboot your router at the mains plug having switched it off for a minute before back on again.
