I want o buy a movie from the Sky Store. But each time I try I get the message:
"you can't make this purchase as your credit limit is not enough". That isn't precise but close enough.
I called sky yesterday, the guy confirmed that I owe nothing on my account, he then tried to transfer me to sky store, I was left waiting for 40 minutes before I was cut off.
Sky are a bunch of Amateurs.

You will need to interact with the Skystore team to get this resolved.
this (below) is a direct link and livechat is usually easier. They are open today till 7.30pm and then from Monday at 11am
best of luck

That isn't the exact message as you have mentioned but is one that can be fixed by Sky via the live chat. What the message means it that you have either reached the spending limit on your account or that the spending limit is currently £0, either way it can be fixed by Sky. They have such limits to prevent overspending by anyone.

I had this issue, 2 hours waiting to speak to someone on the phone, they reset the limit to 130. 1 month later and just tried to purchase a movie and getting the same message "spending limit has been reached"
so, no, they won't resolve it if you contact them

They should do so clealry something is amiss if you have reached the limit so soon so try using the live chat instead that is available from 11am-7.30pm Monday to Saturday and can be found here:

No, it cannot be fixed by sky.
I have been in touch with them a dozen times, and it's still not fixed.
Something happened to sky store approx 4 months ago, it's quality of service has gone terrible.

Sorry to read you are still having problems.
I can't fix them as like you I'm just a Sky customer although I do spend quite a bit of time looking at Skystore issues on the forum.
W hat is weird is that on the forum we see approx 200 messages similar to your initial problem each year. Reading through the threads, the overwhelming number of these are fixed by the customer speaking to the Skystore tesm
reading your post though it appears you have tried this on numerous occasions.
May I ask, do they give you any indication why they can't fix yours ? Or do they say they will and just don't fix it ?
my understanding is that they just need to agree and apply a credit limit to your account and activate it for purchases.

Is it fair to say that when you contacted them in July after first posting on here, that they fixed it but the credit limit message has come up again and if it has have you made quite a few purchases between July and this month ?

They asked had I requested the limit be set to 0 and I told them I had not.. so they reset it to €130 and told me that it was fixed.. I then tried to rent a movie for my son recently and it's still giving the same notification "the credit limit has been reached" even though we haven't purchased anything between the first issue and now. Also it only seems to be an issue with renting movies as when you pick purchase instead it will let you purchase it, but not rent it!

My question was directed to @Thomasoc which is why I quoted his post.
If it isn't letting you rent but it will let you order a Buy and keep film then contacted them again to let them know about this as it might need a further investigation.
