Sky Store purchases in UHD (not renting)

Have sky announced when subscribers can purchase UHD movies via the sky store?

it's great that you can rent in uhd but I prefer to purchase movies.

If @Chloe-W22 is around she may know if anything has been mentioned - but I've seen nothing on this. I wonder if UHD purchases and 4K Discs from Sky will start to appear at the same time ?

I feel your pain, sky store losing out on this I'm afraid,  Peter rabbit 2 is hd only to buy on sky store, but on prime video you can buy it in uhd to download for the same price. I have both services so prime video is the winner this time, also when will sky make new sky mini boxes so you can uhd in another room Too?

No one knows as Sky don't release such information to the public until they actually release something.

Yes, unfortunately we are still waiting.

It's a shame, I would rather purchase UHD movies than renting, until sky add this, my hard earned cash is being spent on Apple 4K movies.

Amazon, Google, Apple even Rakuten and Chili support UHD.

How can you download UHD on Amazon? I thought you could only stream.

You can't download Amazon movies on to your Sky box - but although I don't have one to try I'm sure you can download on to Amazon devices such as Amazon Fire (to view offline)

It took sky about 5 years to sell blueray so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Lol, and now people want 4k dvds now not blu ray, and now in August 2022 still no uhd to buy in sky store, top gun maverick out next Monday and only hd available,  on prime its uhd.

It's a real shame when your entire viewing ecosystem is with sky and you can't enjoy a simple 4K purchase via sky store.  Furthermore, apple movie purchases aren't available via the apple app. 

Can't let go of my Apple TV until the former is in place.

Sky's whole business model is based on convenience, not quality. It's a mass market product and the mass market don't care enough about UHD to warrant its inclusion on Sky Store. 

Those who want better quality can get it elsewhere quite easily. Most of the movie streaming services charge the same (if not less) than Sky Store for exactly the same movies, be they rental or purchase, but you get them in UHD, often with HDR, Dolby Vision and Atmos, and at the correct frame rate. 

But like I say, most Sky customers are happy with the convenience of what they can get from Sky Store.

Disagree. I pay nearly £100 in total to sky across multiple product offerings and I along with many other sky subscribers expect convenience and highly quality.  
I have 65" sky glass tv that is capable of Dolby atmos and HDR yet their main sky store purchase platform offers hd content only. The model doesn't make sense unless it's to force our hands at subscribing to sky cinema.

I purchase all my 4k uhd on Amazon . That way I can watch it on my stick upstairs. The mini box for sky only plays 4k on the main box.
