Sky Store App stopped working on my LG TV - black screen

Sky Store stopped working on my LG TV last week (mid April 2026). The Sky Store logo comes up, but then the screen goes black...and nothing happens, even if left for ages.

I checked online, and it seems this has happened to other users with LG TVs...and it looks like they have not been helped at all.

I have already tried uninstalling the Sky Store App and then re-installing it. I have "hard rebooted" the TV by switching off...unplugging...and holding down the power button. I have done this several times. None of this has helped...and I still get a black screen.

My TV has all updates.

No other app is affected, only Sky Store.

Perhaps a recent update has caused this issue, I don't know.

The Sky Store app works fine on my phone...but I want to watch my purchased films on my big TV.

Please, can anyone help me...and others with the same issue?

  • At the moment, there is a known live issue affecting the My Sky Store app on certain LG TVs, where the app launches to the Sky Store logo and then goes to a black, unresponsive screen. Our technical team is already aware of this issue and is actively working with LG to resolve it as a priority.

    I understand how disappointing this is, especially when everything else on the TV is working fine and you’d prefer to watch your purchased content on the big screen. Please rest assured that this isn’t an issue caused by your TV settings or network, and there’s nothing further you need to do on your side right now.

    In the meantime, you can continue to access your Sky Store purchases on supported devices such as your mobile phone, tablet, or other compatible platforms. Once the fix is released, the app should resume working normally on your LG TV without requiring reinstallation.

@Brill+Gill I would add, this seems to have happened for lots of LG TV users. Having a private chat is great, but update all of your users. I really want to watch my movies on my TV.
