I rented the movie the secret garden last night. When I went to play I just had a blue screen. I thought it may not have fully downloaded so I tried it again this evening but to no avail, the same issue. I bought the movie from the Sky Store using my Sky HD+ Box
I downloaded the whole movie on the Sky Box. When I press play I just see a blue screen that does not respond to play or forward. The actual skybox appeared like it was playing (blue circle spinning on the box) but nothing further happened.
Any suggestions. Thanks

I'm trying to think what's different between Skystore content and regular content. One thing may be the level of encryption.
I can't see why a new router would be a factor although I may be missing something.
Is your HD box connected by HDMI or by scart ?
If scart then I'm thinking that may be a factor
Let me know if you are using scart and that will be useful in trying to diagnose.
if scart - try swapping the cable ends the opposite way round

When you deleted it, did you also delete it again out of your "deleted" section.
If you don't, when you try to download it again it will just move the (potentially corrupted) download back across
So I would delete it (twice) then redownload it.

Thank you. I have now deleted in the deleted area and I will try again.
I have very bad broadband so it will take a couple of hours to download.

I'm having this same issue. I've recently been sent a new BT hub... Connected it up OK but all my purchased things just a blue screen.... I've archived, deleted etc but still nothing!

Could you clarify. Can you download / play other on demand content ? Is it just Sky store purchases ?
are these buy and keep movies rather than rentals ?

I am able to download and play other content fine. It is just happening for sky buy and keep movies I had purchased.

It is connected using a scart.... I'll try swapping over now and see if this makes a difference! Thank you 🙂

Let me know how you get on.
Another basic thing worth trying if that doesn't fix it - is to power off your HD box at the mains for at least 1 minute (to allow time for the components to discharge any power they are holding )
