Didn't realise would still have to pay for films. I thought I would be able to watch new released films without having to buy or rent.. I took out package on 27 August.

All movies via the Sky Store are Buy or Rent, these are movies released generally before Sky Movies picks them up. This is down to the Studios and what they want to be released to Rental/Buy or to Sky via their movie channels.

There is a paragraph on the Sky Q contract booklet which I have pasted below
The best way to establish if you are inside or outside any cancellation date is to chat with Sky
as others have said - new movies are rarely included in the Sky movies package just after release - but they are usually available outside of Skystore a few months after release
"Cancellation period: You have the right to cancel your order for TV services, a Sky dish, a Sky Q box, other products (e.g. extra remote controls) or any DVD or Blu-ray purchased with any content via Sky Store (where you had the option to purchase a digital only version of the content) without giving any reason any time up to 14 days (“cooling off period”) from the later of: (i) delivery; (ii) installation; or (iii) confirmation in writing of the relevant terms and conditions for that product

Generally speaking no movie studio would be happy with that: under the extremely unusual circumstances since the spring of last year there have of course been exceptions to the normal 'theatrical release -> sale on disk -> sale on demand -> subscription service -> free to air' progression (which used to take months or even years) but that's been really costly to the film and cinema industry, and they'd very much like to get back to normal asap.
