This has happened several times now. When watching sky premier league, sky football and Sky Ashes the game commentary is muffled. The studio speech is fine the adverts are fine even the crowd noise is fine it’s just the commentary that is muffled. This is on hdmi, if I change to optical it’s all fine, if I use the tv speakers it’s fine. I have checked all the hdmi connections I have reset the sky Q box and sound box.
It doesn’t happen most of the time just sometimes.
Has anyone got any ideas?

I had the same problem, and came to the conclusion that it might be at Sky Sports end, because for me the sound was always ok while it was showing the studio, it was only when they went to the live commentators that the sound ws muffled, both cricket and football. Has only happened a few times though, three i think.

I think you are probably right. It’s the exactly the same for me. I’ve called Sky but they just passed me round various departments and I eventually gave up hanging on the phone.

Re: Muffled commentary Sky sports
Same issue. Just recently getting the **bleep** also.
Went into settings and changed it to normal. Maybe the atmos setting on sound channel sky now use, interferes with it? Changing sound output to normal does do it though and doesn't effect q sound settings either.

Re: Muffled commentary Sky sports
I put the 'muffled' sound on Sky football down to the mumbling, dreary, male commentators!

I have had the same problem. Surely Sky should investigate and sort it.

Re: Muffled commentary Sky sports
For me this is resolved by taking out the power cable for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in! But clearly Sky need to look at this!
