we cannot get sky tv although we have recently renewed our contract

we recently changed our sky tv subscription but now the screen shows the following dialogue - To use this service you need to upgrade your subscription.   I have upgraded so what do they mean ?

It appears on all channels - including catch and on demand.

Do you still have the HD add on? If not please try changing the default download preference from HD to SD in

Main Menu > Settings > Setup > Preferences

 

If you do have the HD add on or the above does not fix the issue you'll need to contact Sky who will then try to refresh the viewing card which sometimes needs a couple of attempts. This link explains more:
