unable to 'catch up' download in HD on Chanel5

I have the 'signature' TV package (no HD subscription), and am able to view/record various HD channels with this package (eg: BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Ch4, Ch5, etc).

However, when I try to do a 'Catch Up' HD download from Ch5, it is not possible (I get an 'Press red button to upgrade your package' message.

This seems to only happen on Ch5. I can do 'Catch Up' HD downloads with no problem from the other HD channels.

What is it about Ch5 that is causing this anomaly?

This is, unfortunately, normal behaviour.

 

Although you can watch Channel 4 & C5 live in HD you need the HD add ons to be able to download from Catch up in HD

 

You may wish to change youor download preference to SD :

Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences

(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)

As mentioned previously, this only happens on Ch5.

I can do 'Catch Up' HD downloads with no problem from the other HD channels (Ch4, etc).

OK Maybe I was mistaken about Ch4 (perhaps they have changed policy) but I do believe this is standard with C5 downloads

I hear what you say, but if this is the case (?), it is extremely odd that the behaviour is only evident on Ch5.

I have tried numerous other HD channels that I am able to view/record, and they all download 'Catch Up' HD with no problem!  

I have also tried numerous different programs from Ch5 'Catch Up', and they all exhibit the same odd behaviour!

 

Appreciate any further clarity anyone can give?
