Sky TV menu works but when I select a program I either get a technical fault with the channel or a blue or black screen, when I try to access recordings I either get a please wait message or an incomplete menu with no images, if I try to watch a recording I get a black screen and the sky box becomes unresponsive. Trying to use either on demand or catch up also results in the sky box freezing.
I have tried unplugging the sky box from the mains for a period of time (around an hour) and I also have updated the box without any change.

@Xteenageidol You could try resetting the settings in the Q boxes hidden menu.
To enter the hidden menu press the home button and scroll down to settings but do not select settings.
With settings highlighted press 0 0 1 then select
Only Carry out the first Reset being Reset Settings as the others will wipe all recordings.
After the reset you will have to re-pair your remote assuming you are using a bluetooth remote by pressing 1 and 3 together on the remote

After doing the hard disc reset I had the "your screen will shortly go blank" message and the Q on m...pulses blue.
From the information I have read I understand that after a period of time, which usually around 30 seconds to a minute my sky box should restart.
My skybox has now been in that state for at least 6 hours and my remote has no effect on the box and my tv is not receiving any signal from the box.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Xteenageidol so they advice was to reset the settings not the hard drive if your box has not restarted all you can do is unplug it frpm the power socket leave it 5 minutes then plug it in again and see if it restarts again if the remote doesnt work to turn it on try pressing the amber button on the front of the box although the remote should work in infra red mode

Perhaps that's what I did reset not the hdd. What ever I reset I believe my recording would still be there and it was only a couple of fairly irrelevant (to me ) settings would be lost like bluetooth remote etc which I don't have anyway. I . assumed that it was the hdd as opposed to a full or factory reset.
Plugging it out and leaving it off just takes me back to a blank tv and a pulsing blue Q so no further forward
