sky remote won't open my LG tv on the tv screen

my sky remote is successfully paired with my LG tv for sound, scrolling, changing the channels and voice etc but it still takes me to the LG channel page and then I have to use the LG remote to get the tv page. I've tried everything I can and the sky support man said it is an ussue with the TV's not the sky remote...can anyone help please?

I'm afraid I am not very clever at these things.....
