sky q box has error message saying "Please insert your viewing card with the chip facing up" help ha

I am getting the Sky Q error message "Please insert your viewing card with the chip facing up . I have followed the online help and have tried reinserting the card and I have completed a re-boot. I then called Sky (which lasted 30mins) where I was told to do the same again, which didn't help. I was then told to wipe the card with a cloth, which I did and still did not work. I then got passed to a Sky Q adviser who told me they had reset the card and it should work within 4 hours. That was 12 hours ago and it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

You may well need a new card sent to you.

 

You'll have to call Sky for that.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

This box does not have a card  so msg is strange

@EveS if its your main Q box then there is a card it on the right hand side of the box toewards the front there will be a few millimeters of the card sticking out

SkyQ is not working and this messge comes up - redone this as instructed but no avail

@tronaster You could try refreshing your viewing card by pressing home > settings > system info > viewing card number > setup > viewing card setup press select to trigger a callback don't worry nothing to do with your phone its only Sky's terminology this will be done over the internet
