If it was once a day but ever time I change channels..

If that channel change is to one carrying post-watershed content before 21:00 then Mandatory Daytime Protection applies: the Broadcasting Code contains no exemption for child-free households.  As @Daniel0210 noted above, the appropriate place to complain about this would be with your MP, as only primary legislation put through Parliament can change the situation.

(And yes, I'm fully aware that it's nonsensical when numerous streaming services aren't required to have any such 'protection' in place, but unfortunately that's how laws work: there simply wasn't internet fast enough for online distribution when they were passed)

Re: sky pin

This seems crazy, my mum has dementia and has in the past bought stuff from the sky store because she doesn't read any of the text and just presses ok to everything and enters her pin to watch what she thinks she wants to watch... she even bought the Eubank/Benn fight, didn't even watch it, had no interest in it and it wasn't even the live event she bought but the replay!

To stop this from keep happening I changed her pin number and haven't told her what it is... which is okay for paid services until she comes to something that she actually does want to watch that is free to air but pre watershed.

Maybe a solution would be to have a separate pin for regulatory purposes and another pin for purchase purposes and if you want to set them the same you can?

Might seem like a good idea, but very unlikely to be adopted by Sky after all this time

I am just another Sky customer!

Hi @99Iainb  I have seen many people complain that that cannot buy anything from the Sky Store. I think this is mainly due to no payment method had been set up. It may be helpful to explore that, if it is not possible to pay it would stop the random purchases. Sky Store Contact.

Re: sky pin

Yeah, highly unlikely, especially while she keeps buying stuff from Sky... and then not watching it!

These tv services aren't very dementia friendly, mum had to move from Virgin media because she struggled to use it and when we went to the sky website to sign up the only options were sky glass and sky stream, which she'd have no chance of understanding. Sky Q does seem to be an option on there again now though, which is more traditional and she can handle... still doesn't help her worth hey pin issues.

Re: sky pin

No, her issue was she WAS buying stuff from the sky store but without realising it... it just got added to get monthly sky bill.  That's why I changed her pin, because she wasn't reading any of the messages, just pressing ok to all the prompts and entering her pin without thinking.
