share viewing card between SkyQ and Sky+HD

So sky have been hassling me to upgrade to Q for a while. I've said no because I have recordings on my HD box that I don't want to lose. I initially spoke to a couple of different Sky reps who didn't understand my question, so I left it. I've had major problems today just trying to book an engineer but one of the reps said I can take the viewing card out of the HD box and still watch recordings. He was wrong. So now I'm wondering, if the Q box needs a viewing card, can I put it in the HD box to watch recordings then back in the Q box to watch or record or whatever? No offense to sky reps but I don't think I've spoken to one that knows what they're on about so I'm hoping someone here does.

BTW The HD is mine.

hi @Kat650

SKY Q does need a viewing card.

I am afraid once you account is switched accross then unfortunately SKY HD will cease to function (although I have heard there may be a slight period where it might work but I may be wrong)

If you haven't actually switched then you may also find some notes I have put together useful :

SKY HD to SKY Q
