my wife's TV is connected to the internet and our main box is sky Q - the TV shows show/hide

we have sky Q and 3 x TVs that are connected to the internet  My wife pressed some buttons on her remote and the TV is showing the message DTV show/hide - we cannot get the TV to go automatically to HDMI2 - we have switched the whole system off.  How do I get the system to remove this message and allow me to select HDMI2.

You may need to use your TV Remote to cycle through the TV Set inputs @Wdsc2006

The TV is apparnetly not connected to the internet so I have selected the correct talktalk internet conenction and the system has asked me for a password - I have no idea what this is and have no idea how to reset it.  My wife is bedbound and has little usage of her hands so I have no idea which buttons she pressed to put this TV into DTV show/hide mode.

Hi @Wdsc2006

Your internet password will be on a plate or label on your Router

I have sorted it - I switched her TV back on and pressed every button on her remote - the button at the top right ie a box with an arrow pointing to the right.  This gave me the option of HDMI2 and using the other remote I selected this & hey presto her TV now works.  Many thanks for your help - I did actually put the router id in and for reasons best known to sky it didn't recognise it - It was definitely the correct one.

Logically if my wife pressed a button her remote to make the system produce this DTV message then by pressing all the buttons there would be one that allowed me to select HDMI2.  Wife now banned from pressing buttons!!

That "old TV outline shape with an arrow pointing into it" is always the source select button on nearly every remote made.

DTV normally means it's been changed to use the internal digital (freeview) tuner

You don't need to connect it to the internet unless you want to use streaming services on the TV itself.
