make downloading hd recordings in UHD easier

One of the main selling points of Sky Q is UHD, but to download a recorded weekly program in UHD is such a pain.

Once the episode is recorded, you need to go to the recording, then go down to available now, then down to the current season, then down to the latest episode, then down to the all formats, then select UHD.

There has to be a simpler way!! Why is there not an option to the right of the recording to download in UHD when available without the need to go here, there and everywhere just to get this weeks episode...

UHD is a selling point, but then seems to have been forgotten about. I pay monthly for UHD content so it shoudl be available at my fingertips without the huuge search process.

Have you set your download preference to UHD ?
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences

(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)

When this is set it should default to the UHD version to download when available

(although I know some thumbnails on promotional rails do seem to link to the HD one)

I have just re-read your post & maybe  it is just future recordings you are on about. 

You don't need to record the episode from the TV list (although I guess this could act as a reminder)

For these maybe the best way is to do what I sometimes do. 

First make sure the setting:

Home - Settings - Setup - Preferences - Auto Download Next episode is set on 

Once you initially have a show  recorded in UHD, when the next episode is available  (usually the same time as the show is broadcast but sometimes a slight delay) then go into watch the last episode you have downloaded  - this triggers the next episode to download

Edit : you need the default quality set to UHD as per my previous post
