You should be able to rest the palm of your hand down on the top of the box.

You haven't answered the question as to where the box is located. If it's getting very hot you should switch it off at the plug and contact Sky.

If you're referring to "resting your hand on the top of the box", that wasn't intended as a solution, that was an implied "if you can't do that, then yes it's definitely overheating"
