improving wifi signal when using Sky Q, Sky mini boxes and booster

Hi - any advice gratefully received.

i have sky Q. the router is ethernet connected to a booster and to one sky mini box. the main sky Q box is connected to wifi (not far from the booster). there's a second sky mini box that is sometimes switched on, sometimes switched off.

my problem is that the wifi signal strength in the room where the ethernet-connecte sky mini box is placed is very poor. i had thought the sky mini box would emit wifi signal (solving for that room) but it is weak.

thank you.

Hi @gnl   Have you checked that the hotspot is turned on? https://www.sky.com/help/articles/wifi-hotspots

@gnl if Sky is your broadband provider then the hotspots are turned on by default  and there is no optrion in setup > advanced settings to turn them on/off

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi
Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband

Re: improving wifi signal when using Sky Q, Sky mini boxes and booster

Thanks for those comments. I checked and I have no option to turn hot spots on or off. I also reset the Sky mini box that is connected to ethernet in order to ensure it was running off that ethernet connection rather than off wifi. This has improved it marginally but it is still a weak signal.

Any other thoughts appreciated. Am happy to buy more boosters/ routers/ etc if that would help. The broadband speed is fine; it's the signal strength in certain places that's a bit weak.

Thanks.
