horizontal band moving down tv screen sky q box
I have a Samsung TV with one connect box with the Sky Q box connected with Hdmi Cable.
Annoying horizontal band which moves down screen intermittently effecting the colours as it moves through picture. This only seems to be when when watching a Sky channel, but not if I switch to an app such as netflix, or my Amazon fire stick channels on different source input..
Seems strange as ony effects Sky channels.I have changed HDMI cables and turned everything of and reconnected but no change.
Any ideas or is it a specific issue with the Sky Q box.thanks

Re: horizontal band moving down tv screen sky q box
Try to reboot your Q box.
Press Standby on your Sky Q remote and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait a few seconds before you press Home on your Sky Q remote which should change the light to green and home screen should appear.

Re: horizontal band moving down tv screen sky q box
last thing to suggest is..
Try a Reset Settings in the hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Scroll down to Reset
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you may have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
All, try a reset of settings:
Press Home
Scroll down to Settings but don't press enter
Type 001 then Enter (the centre button of the direction arrows)
Scroll down to Reset and Scroll across to Reset settings (don't goto reset hard drive or factory reset)
Press enter
Box will reset and go through start up procedure.

Re: horizontal band moving down tv screen sky q box
I have reset but still there,is fainter on netflix than on sky channels, but soes not happen if I switch source to the Amazon firestick which is also connected via the one connect box.Appears to be an issue between the sky q box and the samsung one connect box which is picking up some sort of interference to the picture. Are there any known problems on this type of connection set up?
Have tried switching the hdmi connections on the one connect box but no change.

Re: horizontal band moving down tv screen sky q box
Have yo made sure the HDMI lead from SkyQ to TV set is NOT near any other leads which could cause some electrical interfrence?
And have you tried swapping to a different HDMI socket on the tv?

Re: horizontal band moving down tv screen sky q box
have found and old thread and it would appear that there is a known issue with the compatability between sky q boxes and the Samsung one connect box.Do not want to buy another newer one connect box if the same issue will happen. One suggestion is to get a splitter for the hdmi input to the sky q box but not sure how this will change things as will still have to connect into the one connect box.Any ideas ?

Re: horizontal band moving down tv screen sky q box
@Terry2248 Not everybody has had this problem, this is my Sky Q version 3 receiver feeding the 'One Connect' box of my QE7590RATXXU. This TV was also happy when it was being fed from a Sky Q version 1 receiver.

Re: horizontal band moving down tv screen sky q box
I've had two different Samsung TV's each with a one connect box and never experienced that issue. To my eyes from the picture posted it looks like there is a fault with the sky box...

Re: horizontal band moving down tv screen sky q box
@Terry2248 I'd agree with @cuke that its a box problem. Do you have another TV you could connect to the box as if it still hsappends on another TV then obviously the box and time to get Sky to give you a replacement
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Re: horizontal band moving down tv screen sky q box
have just tested on another TV a JVC, which I can plug the hdmi leads for both sky q box and the amazon fire stick into direct. No interference on either source.Have re-connected to the Samsung through the one connect box and the interference band still showing moving through the bottom third of the screen. Have a call back from a Samsung tech. sometime in the next 24 hours so will update. Also was told each One Connect box is paired with the individual TV so cannot test another one connect box. Not sure this is true as cannot believe that they are paired one to one so that you cannot get another box if the one supplied with TV fails or has an issue?

Re: horizontal band moving down tv screen sky q box
Just spent a long time talking to Samsung tech, no solution cannot change one connect box type would need and engineer to set up, expensive and not sure would change anything.Spoke to Samsung engineer company ICTV who advised that parts not available for TV or box, and at £80.00 test cost for call out, would not neccesarily be able to solve as as it is an older TV/One connect box and it may be that the Sky Q box signal cannot be perfectly read as is a newer Q box and that the TV/Connect box is not totally compatible. Will talk to Sky to see if they have any ideas

Re: horizontal band moving down tv screen sky q box
spoke to Sky as the Qbox had no interference on another TV, then no problems with that box only the feed received by the TV/one connect box, so no point getting a Sky enginner out.Looks like I will be watching mostly through the firestick source as have subsciption which enables viewing of hundreds of channels. Will have to record on Sky when needed and watch with the interference. Not the solution I wanted butnot spending money on another TV.Still interested if anyone has similar issues especially specific to my TV model and one box.
