I came here looking for help with the same issue. It is infuriating. It happens every time I pause a Youtube video. The only work around for it is to rewind the Youtube video a few before hitting play again. That prevents the voices going out of sync and the subsequent buffering while the YouTube video reloads that I know is about to happen. There are posts on this forum from a year ago Its a poor show that Sky haven't sorted it by now. I have even went into the secret menu and refreshed all the apps but it made no difference, so it would appear that Sky have made no attempt to fix the issue.

Needless to say the issue I was having isnt that of this topic it seems, so anyway I'm getting the same loading issues as everyone else now instead.
My solution unplug the skybox turn it off and plug in the Amazon firestick.
As far as I know, you can change just the DNS and leave the rest blank and it still uses dhcp for those.

The issue I'm having on my side is when I click a video to play it I get an ad that works fine but then just get black loading screen. Anyone else having this issue?

Gone on today and the problem has disappeared.
anyone else experiencing a fix today?
tried it multiple times and so far so good, I have had it before where it's worked for a day and then reverted back to the fault the following day so I'll be checking back tomorrow.
just wondering if this is fixed across the board.

Is there a fix on this Sky? It's annoying. It makes it unwatchable.

Please forgive the cynicism, but is this fix like Trump's ACA / Obamacare replacement? 4+ years ago it was "two weeks away" and he has " concepts of a plan" now. This problem has been ongoing well over a year so, yes, I will only believe it when I see it.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI'm not sure anything has changed from the initial "solution" in post 2.
It's a Google problem and has been left with them as Sky say they can't replicate the issue.
You will be disappointed if you think it is fixed in the next Q software update, it isn't.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHmm. I am getting ok results. Did get a momentary buffering pause just now after a few minutes pause and restart but it recovered after a few seconds and is fine. What version are you on dude?
Any excuse to watch 3 hours of The Cure's Songs of a Lost World live gig again 😁

I haven't seen that, will check it out 👍🏻
My Q is on 280 (hence my "no fix in the next release"), YouTube is on a fairly recent build, web_20241211_14_RC00.
I test the YouTube bug daily across HD and UHD content, occasionally it does work as intended when you pause, but it just gives false hope! 🤣
The vast majority of the time, the skip back and sound dropout issue remains present after a video pause. 😤

If it helps with testing, I get the bug:
I have had the bug on every software version on Q this year and do not get it when using YouTube on any other device, wired or wireless.
I do have Premium so no ads. I have not had any other YouTube issues, just the pause bug.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI've had the same on prior versions
not on Premium
just tried a couple more pauses. No ill effects
but will try more
