Did you change the default download preference to SD I mentioned in the post you marked as Answer ?
If not I strongy recommend you do - this should remove the need to keep selecting the format to download
Edit - Sorry I should have read to the end of your last post to see you currently have the HD add on

Hi Nig, sorry to get back to you so late.
When you previously mentioned switching it to SD and trying, I did.

I can't find the particular reply.
Did you say you could see the same layout as I was trying to explain in my 'Flower' example on your Sky+ for the options to download the episodes in series 5, on catchup? Set to download at times on days offered, but also the ability to download it straight away?
If so, and I'm not sure how the forum runs, is there any chance you could take a screenshot of that particular page showing those options, to better help explain what it looked like, and choices when the engineer calls, as obviously trying to explain it will make far easier and I don't have the ability to show it any longer, and my example (Flower) was a *very rough explanation of the options.

Right chaps.
Friday 21st 10.31 am.....just as a time stamp for this post.
I have just tried a reboot.
Unit into stand by via remote, box showing Amber.
Unplugged it from the wall.
(Belt and braces, not that it really makes any difference to any of it) Unplugged the HDMI for the TV and Ethernet cable for the router.
*Literally went and had a cup of tea.
Plugged HDMI and Ethernet back in, plugged it back into the wall etc.
Now when I go to Canal Boat Diaries on Catch up, and each episode of series 1,2,3,4 and 5, some are showing as they should, attached image of *Season 1, Episode 1*.
Others are showing a blank page, image of *Season 1, Episode 2*
I have gone into settings, and changed the format resolution, just as an off chance (try anything and everything) But they are still the same, also remember I now have the HD pack anyway.
In fact, in season 1, from Episode 2 and up, they are a all blank.
Season Two has only three episodes showing as they should.
Season Three all blank.
Season Four all blank except for 3 (Episodes 2, 4, 5)
Season Five All blank except for (Episodes 1, 3, 5)
Apart from season 5 (The main problem one) I can still download all episodes in the others that have formats showing.
So it has gotten worse now.
I might try another reboot? or leave it like it is, so that the engineer can see it on JULY 4th

Here's how S5 Ep10 looks on Sky+HD box. (Apologies for the blue tint, photos of my TV always come out like this)

Decided to just try another reboot.
All blank panes are now showing correctly.
Remember I could download series 1,2,3,4 but not 5 'You do not have the right subscription"
Now I can only download series 1, 3, 4
Series 2 now says 'you do not have the right subscription'
Sometimes when I go to download an episode (from a series that is actually working) As I press on the icon (arrow) to download, the picture just jumps back to the last channel I was watching on a live broadcast, BBC NEWS Whether it's finished downloading or not.
Sometimes it won't do that, but stay on the catchup page to allow me to download the following episode, and the following one etc.
Other times it's just fine and doesn't jump back, whether it has finished downloading or not.
This thing is as buggy as Sonoma on my Macbook Pro, that was another mistake upgrading to.
If I were able to switch back to my old box and LNB etc, I would in a heartbeat.

That's perfect.
Thanks very much for taking the time to do that for me.
That's as it was on mine, If I clicked on either the 3rd down, or possibly the 4th, it downloaded straight away without any problems.
I didn't have the HD pack, and it didn't pop up with (you don't have the right subscription)
My catch-up now doesn't give me 4 options, just the one which contains HD or SD and won't allow me.
If you haven't upgraded from the Sky+ HD to Sky Q, I'd give it a miss.
I only upgraded because I had a letter to say the warranty on my Sky+ HD box had run out, but they could offer me the Sky Q free of charge.... I thought, Why Not!......

I have no intention of switching until they force me to. Sky Q offers me nothing (that I want) that Sky+HD doesn't do and takes away several features of Sky+HD that I do use.

Just out of interest, what are the features they have taken away?
The only thing that attracted me to it was the fact you can record two things at the same time...and I thought, ah well, it is the latest box.
My other bug bear is that it hasn't got a backup button 😅, and I keep hitting the wrong button, and it takes me back to the live broadcast station I had been watching, and I have to start again. (That's a light-hearted bug bear)
Obviously I will get used to it, but I don't know who designed the operating system, his prior employment must have been designing jigsaws 😅

Reminders (sorry everyone), Slow Motion, Bookmarks and the ability to run a second TV via a Magic Eye are the main one's.

A couple ar e mentioned in some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q
One of them has almost become a swear word on the groups here - maybe you can guess which one after reading.
(edit @oj01 beat me to it )
P.S. Sorry @Negativepitch42 that you may not have seen the notes before taking up the offer to switch

My wife has called me into the living room.
A lot of the live to air channels won't work now, thet are greyed out, BBC1, Channel 5, Channel 4, Gold, absolutely loads.
If I were allowed to swear on here it would be in capitals.
Is there a way to factory reset it? Where is this flippin card to?
EDIT: They have all decided they want to work now..... I didn't touch the tv.
I've really had a guts full of it.
I'll finish on my posts on this now for now, and just wait until the engineer comes, I'll have a read of your links.
21 Jun 2024 01:55 PM
Ok, just an add-on to the link you gave.
OH joy, that was a fun read...Not.
I have a 1TB, but how can you tell which version it is?

Home - Settings - System Info - Hardware Version
If it is 32Cxxx then you have an older 1TB non-UHD Box
If it is 32B0xxx then you have a (V1) UHD but non HDR 2TB Box
If it is 32B1xxx then you have a (V2) UHD HDR 2TB Box (which has a separate Power supply)
If it is 32B2xxx then you have a (V3) UHD HDR 1TB or 2TB Box

I'm not bothered about UHD.
Just popping back to my original question on this thread, I have tried other programs on Yesterday which again I had downloaded on my old box, but has now changed to the wrong subscription, Hornby A Model World, for example.
I thought, ok, maybe it's just the yesterday channel.
So I tried some others channels, and it's the same.
I have another question about packages, but I'll start a new thread...keep an eye out 😅
