I want to change my HD TV to a UHD TV. In settings I cannot see anything that allows a switch from HD to UHD. Will my existing box provide the UHD signal. It's about 3 years old.

Where are you referring to ? - personally I don't know setting system info that indicates HDR
It is an HDR capable box (as per the table above)
To get HDR you must be able to set 2160p 10 bit & often this requires TV settings to be set for the HDMI that SKY Q is plugged into

Thanks for the clear reply. Looks like I need a new box as the existing is too old. Despite my best efforts I cannot find within the SKY site any link to order / replace my box with the necessary newer version. Anybody have a link?

https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK customers: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number.
ROI customers: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0818 number.
(The forum doesn’t allow us to type the numbers in full).
You will find that similar to calling other large companies the start will be automated which may also try to send you back to the forum. Be aware we’ve been informed the lines are busier than usual at the moment.

Unfortnately you can't do it online - they removed the links when there was a shoratge of 2TB boxes a couple of years or so ago but never re-instated them when they were back in stock.
If you have the MY SKY app I think you may be able to find a number there - especially if you are a SKY VIP member
If not go this page & scroll to the bottom and expand the link need more help & scroll down

If you have SKY Mobile or SKY Talk land line then I think you can also call 150

Given that almost every new TV is now at least UHD and there must be thousands of pre 2020 Sky Boxes out there, it amazes me that there is no standard reply within Sky Help for this issue nor any easy way to upgrade your box. Tried to call, as usual 'we are receiving many calls blah blah.'

It's just the 1TB version rather than all pre-2020 (actually November 2019) main boxes. However, given there are many millions of households with Q, it's probably more like hundreds of thousands if not a milllion or two.
Worth noting that having UHD output is only important for native UHD content, though, which requires an additional subscription. All UHD televisions will upscale both HD and SD input.

Yeah but you can just wait. I recommend doing so in a pub with a nice pint and perhaps a good Iain M Banks novel.

Yeah I think that only shows in the options if the box thinks the TV can handle it.

I had a new TV installed last week.
Sky box showed UHD 8bit.Switched off UHD and set it to 1080p then switched it back to UHD.
Got message asking whether 8bit or 10 10 bit was required along with the Find It For Me setting.
Picked 10bit and box now shows UHD/HDR on downloads .
Will check with F1 this weekend.Hopefully now in UHD/HDR mode.

My Sky Q 2TB box is harware version 32B064 so can play UHD but not HDR.
Is it woprth asking Sky to replace mine with a HDR compatible box, and are Sky likely to replace it?
I very recently signed a new 18 month contract, hope that doenst commit me to having to keep my current box.

hi @Big+Stevie
Unfortunately SKY will not usually upgrade you to an HDR box for free.
The current cost to upgrade seems to be £99 - they used to allow self install upgrades for a cheaper price but recent posts would suggest that they have stopped offering them.
I know many people feel this is unfair to longer standing customers but this does not seem to factor in.

Thanks, I maybe should have considered it when renewing my contract, but for now I'll just keep the box i have. Thanks for the reply.
