Why is my new Sky Q HDR enabled box the ONLY device connected to my AVR, that WON'T display HDR?
Hope someone can find an answer for me here. I've just installed my new HDR compatible Sky Q box and connected it all up as required. The box is connected to my Pioneer vsx-1131 receiver, alongside my UHD bluray player and my PS4. However, where the bluray player and the PS4 display HDR perfectly well on the OLED65CX TV, the Sky Q box says "The content you have selected cannot be played on this device" when I try the downloaded HDR test card. However if I bypass the receiver and connect directly to the TV it will display HDR. So the question is, WHY will everything else play HDR fine through the receiver but NOT the new Skyq box?

Can I check which input(s) on your AVR have you tried connecting SKY Q ?
A quick look at the manual it would seem only inputs 1-3 are 4K

Hi @beenz5150
If your receiver was introduced in 2016 I suspect it is too early to be compatible to HLG version HDR

Re: Why is my new Sky Q HDR enabled box the ONLY device connected to my AVR, that WON'T display HDR?
Many thanks for the response to my question, I've tried inputs 1, 2 and 3 but to no avail. Now wondering if it's the HLG version of HDR that may be responsible, as mentioned in another reply, it's probably down to the VSX-1131 receiver unfortunately. May need to sweet talk "she who must be obeyed" and see if a new receiver might be in the offing.
Many thanks again.

hi @beenz5150
Out of interest did the SKY box let you select 2160p 10 bit when connected to the AVR or did just allow 8 bit ?
