Why can’t I have sky without a dish new house
Engineer came to my house to install sky but went away without doing it re no wires on the outside of new house ???

Is that a stipulation from the house builders? Some don't allow dishes on new builds.

The main reason you couldn't have Sky without a dish is that the signal with all the telly pictures in it was being sent from a satellite and you needed something to catch that signal.
But now you can have Sky without a dish and it just uses your internet connection. It's called Sky Stream. It's a bit different from Q though.

Sky installers won't carry out a concealed wiring installation from scratch. They also won't enter loft space where developers typically leave cable ends for a built-in cabling solution.
As @Chodley indicates, to get a dishless Sky solution you'd need to cancel the Q order and go for Glass or Stream: be aware that these do not have the same functionality as Q, so do your research.
