Why am I being asked to insert a card to watch certain channels I've never had to before. why now

I've switched on tonight,and it keeps asking me to insert card.to watch most of the channels.Ive never had to do this before and I haven't got a card and have never had one .I've had Sky for a few years ,never had this come up before to watch.?

If you've got Sky Q, then you will have a viewing card in the slot on the side of your box.  If you push it gently in, it should then pop out. Give the chip face a wipe with a soft, dry cloth, push it back in the same way up as it came out, and see if that sorts it.

@Suzanne1672 if @Invisiblename advice doesn't work 

You could try refreshing your viewing card by

pressing home > settings > system info > viewing card number > setup > viewing card setup

press select to trigger a callback don't worry nothing to do with your phone its only Sky's terminology this will be done over the internet
