Hi
Mum moved house and wanted to get her sky plus box working but don't think she brought the aerial cable with her. A normal TV aerial doesn't fit in the sky plus input socket. Can you get an adapter or do you need a special cable that fits in the box.
Thanks

We have a cable from a socket for our sky q box it's different end piece to an aerial like it has a nut fastener and thin wire that goes in the socket in backof q box. I just want to know what it's called as I am sure you can buy them

No amount of cables will work if not.

F-plug on a coax sat cable (same
basic idea as an aerial cable but higher spec for the frequencies needed)
Has she moved in with you? If not, has she got a dish (sounds like you have a communal one)

hi @paulbirks
you can get them as Satellite fly leads - the connectors are F-Connectors

Ok well that needs to be connected to whatever wall plate you run the cable from.
this, if it exists, will have f-plug sockets like the sky box.
or you need direct cable from the dish LNB to the box

Note that if the previous owners of the house had Sky Q then your mum's Sky+HD Box won't work as the LNB on the dish is different for the two systems.
