What adaptor do I require to affix a sky connector onto my LG OLED TV
I have a Sky mini box in the bedroom which has has a female fitting but it does not fit onto the existing LG TV set-up.
I've ordered an adaptor which screwed onto the LG satelitte 'in' port but It was too big for the Sky fitting. What is the size I should be ordering?

Mini boxes connect to the TV via a standard HDMI Lead.
You don't use any satellite in ports on your TV. (These are for direct feed from a dish, with the correct LNB - which Q won't be)

Connecting an ac sky adaptor to an LG TV
Re. my previous message my sky mini box in the bedroom has an ac power adaptor and it is this lead which I need to connect to my LG TV. I have purchased an adaptor which screwed onto theTV satelitte port but was too big to accept the male connector from the ac adaptor. Would anyone know how I can overcome this issue?

Re: Connecting an ac sky adaptor to an LG TV
It isn't possible to power a Q Mini from a television set, if that's what you are trying to do. A television outputs a very small current (2.5W max) over USB2 and a negligible amount (c1-2W) up to a satellite LNB. A Q Mini in use draws around 10W.
I'd also observe that as the Q hardware is on loan to you, experimenting with distinctly unconventional power supply is unwise.

Re: Connecting an ac sky adaptor to an LG TV
Connecting a mains adaptor to the TV satellite port is likely to make you LG TV be an ex-TV.
As per my reply in the other post, you connect the mini to the TV using a standard HDMI lead.
The TV and mini box are independly powered via their own mains leads. (Usually an IEC C7)

There's nothing on a Mini which connects to a television set other than the HDMI cable (or the composite video/audio out via minijack to a television without HDMI)
There's absolutely no reason to connect a Mini to the satellite tuner on a TV: that achieves nothing at all. The satellite tuner in the television set is to receive a feed from a satellite dish with a compatible universal LNB on it (a Q,LNB won't work)

And just on the off-chance you're referring to a Stream puck (which does have an aerial socket for digital terrestrial television reception) that also doesn't connect to a television set over anything except HDMI.

Single UK mains plug to twin C7 is also potentially viable, I guess.

Indeed,, but we've no idea what the OP is trying to achieve...

Re: Connecting an ac sky adaptor to an LG TV
Why do you think you need to do this? (As above, it's not possible anyway) - what problem are you trying to solve?
It's good news for your ongoing use of the TV, and not a coincidence, that the adapter wasn't the right shape to feed a few amps of DC power into a socket designed to accept a signal from a dish.
and it would have been better to just reply to your existing thread, maybe an admin can merge these.

Re: Connecting an ac sky adaptor to an LG TV
The only possible reason I can imagine would be to power the Mini from the television set, probably on a wall mount with a single concealed socket behind it. That's cropped up before over the years, but the average television set cannot supply enough juice for a Firestick, let alone a Q Mini.

Also... minis don't use an AC adaptor, they have internal PSUs??

That's why I was wondering if it was actually a Stream puck.

Thanks all for your replies, I guess I'm asking the wrong question. In fact I'm certain I am, but your replies have made me reassess my assumptions so many thanks.
